How to Buy Articles Online Without Getting Burned

Cheap articles can cost you rankings, trust and hours of rewriting. Here is the ten-point checklist we would use before paying any content service, including us.

How to Buy Articles Online Without Getting Burned

Buying articles can save you months, or it can leave you with a folder of thin, recycled content you are embarrassed to publish. The difference is almost always visible before you pay, if you know where to look.

Use this checklist on any service, including ArticleReserve.

Before you order

  1. Ask what you are actually buying. Exclusive rights, a licence shared with other buyers, or PLR content anyone can buy? Each has a place, but the price should match. Our guide to exclusive, PLR and licensed content explains the differences.
  2. Read a full sample. Not a paragraph: a complete article in your niche. Check whether it answers the question in the first few lines and whether it says anything specific.
  3. Find out who edits it. AI-assisted drafting is normal now. Publishing AI drafts with no human edit is not something you want on your site. Ask what the human step involves.
  4. Check the revision policy. How many rounds, within how long, and what counts as a revision versus a new brief?
  5. Confirm what comes with it. Meta title and description, FAQ, image suggestions and formatting all save you time if they are included.

When the article arrives

  1. Run a plagiarism check. Copyscape and similar tools take seconds. Anything copied is an instant rejection.
  2. Spot-check three facts. Pick a number, a date and a product claim and verify them against the original source. If one is wrong, check them all.
  3. Read the first 100 words aloud. If they could open any article on the topic, ask for a rewrite.
  4. Look for your angle. Your brief said what would make this article better than what ranks now. Is that angle there, high enough to be seen?
  5. Add what only you know. Even a great bought article improves when you add a result, a photo or an opinion of your own. Our guide to editing a bought article for your brand shows how in 20 minutes.

Red flags: prices that seem too low to include a human edit, no samples, “guaranteed rankings”, or no clear answer about who owns the article after you pay.
